Names from the screen

Speechy already uses the text in the window you're dictating into. Turn on Read the screen for names and, when an app shows little text Speechy can read, it also reads names from a picture of the window so they come out spelled right. The picture is read on your Mac and never saved.

How to use Names from the screen

  1. Turn it on

Settings, Personalize, Read the screen for names.

  2. Allow Screen Recording

macOS asks once, so Speechy can see the window.

  3. Dictate about what you see

Names drawn on a canvas or in an image count too.

  4. Spelled like the screen

The names match what was on screen.

What's on screen, what it types
