Per-app sound mixer
Speechy adds a volume mixer to your Mac with a slider for every app that can make sound. Point at the middle of your screen's right edge, click Sound, and turn Spotify down, boost a quiet Zoom call up to 400%, or send one app to your headphones.
How to use Per-app sound mixer
Point at the edge
Move your pointer to the middle of the screen's right edge.
Click Sound
The mixer opens with a slider for every open app that can make sound.
Drag or scroll
Scroll over a slider to move it; past 100% the app gets louder than normal.
Pick its speaker
Use an app's menu to send it to another output, mute it or reset it.
What you do, what you get
Zoom
You do
“Push Zoom's slider up while a quiet speaker talks.”
You get
The call plays louder than your Mac's own volume allows, without the other apps getting louder.
Spotify
You do
“Pull Spotify down to 20% and leave everything else alone.”
You get
Music sits quietly in the background while alerts and calls stay at full volume.
Discord
You do
“Choose your headphones in Discord's menu.”
You get
Discord plays in your headphones while the rest of your Mac stays on the speakers.
Turn the edge on or off.
The mixer lives in the Side Notches. Find them in Speechy, Settings, General, Appearance.
